Vitorchiano. Bishop's Palace

The Casa del Vescovo is one of the oldest monuments of the town of Vitorchiano dating back to the 13th-16th centuries and has a classic medieval style.

Perhaps it was the residence of the bishop of Bagnoregio during his pastoral visits.

It is built in peperino, the traditional local volcanic stone, and is characterized by a stone staircase that rests on an arch and leads to the first floor.

The doors of the house are surmounted by two round arches with a raised profile.

Take note of a particular ledge in peperino carved next to the entrance door.
