Casalattico. Montattico Tower (Ruins)

The remains of the Montattico tower are located on a 776 meter hill on a spur of Mount Cairo of Casalattico.

It was probably built on one of the many villas that Pompey Atticus had in this area.

The strategic location and good view over the Val di Comino suggests it is a highland settlement for control of the pass and for the exploitation of pastures.
