The Casalattico countryside and its surroundings are characterized by the presence of strange circular structures in local stone.
These are hand-dug wells that were used to drain rainwater and then use it for grazing and agriculture.
The well was built with 'dry' stones (without cement) and was in need of regular maintenance. For this reason, after the emigration many were destroyed.
It is remembered that the main square Montattico was called 'Wells Square' for the presence of these structures that were covered with asphalt in the '50s.
