The castle Orsini of Vasanello dates from the twelfth century and takes its name from the first lords.
The castle was modified in the sixteenth century and has a square base and cylindrical corner towers. Giulia Farnese and Lucrezia Borgia have stayed there.
Since 1534, the castle passed to Stefano Colonna and in 1787 became an asset of Barberini-Colonna di Sciarra.
In 1907 the castle was bought by Monsignor Misciattelli who completely restored it.
His nephew, the Marquis Paolo Misciattelli Mocenigo Soranzo, implanted production of ceramic art of fine workmanship.
The quality of "Ceramics Bassanello" was very popular and the art direction was entrusted to the Faenza masters.
Subsequently, the factory closed but his works are still appreciated in museums and collectors.
