Orvinio. Castle of the Marquis Malvezzi-Campeggi

Orvinio. Castle of the Marquis Malvezzi-Campeggi

The baronial palace of the Marquis Malvezzi-Campeggi was born from the transformation of the original fortified castle around which the village of Orvinio is formed.

In the sixteenth century, when the need to use these buildings for defensive purposes ended, many castles were transformed into Renaissance palaces.

Of the original castle you can see the crenellated wall, with its soaring towers, which occupies the entire historic centre.

The Marquis still lives in the castle.
