The palace Angeletti-Antonelli was built in the sixteenth century by the family Angeletti uniting medieval buildings in the vicinity of the walls of Ceccano.
In the halls of the palace famous people were hosted such as Blessed Antonio Baldinucci, Cardinal Ganganelli (the future Pope Clement XIV) and St. Paul of the Cross.
In the nineteenth century, the palace passed to Prince Poniatowski, who won it in a card game. The building was then sold to Antonelli Counts.
The palace overlooks Piazza Municipio, which is dominated by an imposing wall of craggy rocks and a water fountain feature built at the end of 1800s, and Villa Comunale. This was once the garden of Palazzo Antonelli and was called called "Princess of Piedmont Villa".
Since 1920 the building has been the Town Hall and is partly open. In the beautiful mosaic room (at one time a board room) are preserved tombstones from the Roman era and an interesting mosaic.
Here you can also view a bust and two paintings depicting famous people of Ceccano such as the Marquis Berardi, Oreste Sindici (composer of the national anthem music of Colombia) and Gaetano Latini, a brave captain who fought with Garibaldi.
