Cori. Defense Towers

Cori. Defense Towers

During the republican period, the Romans reinforced the walls of Cori and built four control towers: three in Cori Monte and one in Cori Valle.

The towers have a semicircular shape and the best preserved one is located in Piazza Signina and is called the Silla Tower - Torre di Silla.

Other quadrangular towers were built in the Middle Ages and had a control and dwelling function.
