Cori. Pozzodorico or Pizzitónico Square

This large square hides a big secret: it is the roof of a Roman building from the 2nd century BC.

Piazza Pozzodorico or Pizzitónico of Cori is a structure consisting of four rooms, probably laboratories and warehouses, and a cistern that collected rainwater.

This complex was located on a terrace lower than that of the Temple of the Dioscuri so that its coverage also had the purpose of enlarging the Piazza del Foro.
