Cori. Temple of the Dioscuri

The Temple of the Dioscuri was built between the 4th and 2nd century BC in the Forum area.

In addition to a place of worship, it also had the function of treasurer of the city and what remains are two Corinthian-style columns that support a stretch of architrave.

Here are the names of the commissioners of the work and the deities to whom the temple was dedicated.

The temple was incorporated and several private buildings and a church dedicated to San Salvatore were born from its ruins.

Some remains are preserved in the cloister of the nearby church of Sant'Oliva.
