Campagnano di Roma. Entrance Gate

The large entrance gate of Campagnano di Roma in the shape of a Roman triumphal arch.

It was commissioned by the Chigi family and marked the beginning of a new course for Campagnano di Roma.

From here you can access the large street with lateral buildings of the eighteenth century and subsequently modernized.

The gate is made of red bricks, squares and frames in dark peperino stone.

Its soft late Baroque forms are now inserted in the neighboring buildings.

On the vault of the arch you can recognize the bell, symbol of Campagnano and reported in its coat of arms.

At the back of the arch, the emblem is shown on the highest part of the structure.
