Rieti. Flavius Vespasian Theatre

The theatre Flavius Vespasian (emperor of the Sabine)in Rieti was built in the late nineteenth and its acoustics are considered one of the best in the world.

It was inaugurated on September 20, 1893 with performances of Cavalleria Rusticana and Faust.

After only five years an earthquake destroyed the theater which was later rebuilt.

Giulio Rolland frescoed the dome with the powerful architecture of Imperial Rome.

It recognizes the Arch of Titus with soldiers, prisoners, trophies and banners and with chariots with the emperors.
