Marta. Fortress and Clock Tower

Marta. Fortress and Clock Tower

The fortress of Marta was built in the thirteenth century and was the initial nucleus of this splendid village on Lake Bolsena.

It was destroyed and today there are traces of the walls and an octagonal tower with a clock that is the symbol of the town.

The tower has been restored by the Farnese family who installed their coat of arms: the unicorn with plumed crest and a shield with iris.
