The Baroque fountain is located in Madonna della Neve square in Frosinone and was built in 1711 by architect Alessandro Specchi.
It was commissioned by Livio de Carolis, Marquis of Prossedi and the General of the Papal Poste.
Alessandro Specchi was also a very famous engraver and in Rome he made a similar fountain at the port of Ripetta (later destroyed by the construction of the Tiber) and the famous steps of Piazza di Spagna in Rome, with the architect Francesco De Sanctis.
The same harmony of the Spanish curve is found in the shape of the basin of this fountain, elegantly baroque.
At the center of the fountain is a cup in marble with a gush of water and four other columns launch jets of water in the direction of the cup.
The sides of the fountain are two marble columns that end with a marble ball.
On the sides of these columns are a couple of bowls with spouts that allowed use of the water of the fountain that came from the aqueduct built by Molella family and donated to the city.
The columns are reminiscent of the previous bath of the port of Ripetta in Rome, where they were used to mark the levels and dates of the Tiber River flooding.
