The church of Our Lady of the Assumption is located in the center of the medieval village of Gorga. Its current form in neoclassical style dates back to 1772 thanks to the work of the Pamphili family, who governed the Gorga until the unification of Italy.
The prince involved the population very devoted to the cult of Mary and created an architecturally very particular sacred building. In fact, looking at the external façade, two inclined side walls can be observed which reveal the circular plan of the church which ends with a frescoed octagonal dome.
Next to the main body of the church there is a small bell tower with austere shapes that recall those of a tower.
