Church of the Archangel Michael
Church of the Archangel Michael

Jenne. Church of the Archangel Michael

The small medieval church of the Archangel Michael is located on one of the mountains above Jenne which takes its name from San Michele Arcangelo.

It is a small irregular stone building with a facade adorned with a stone entrance with a lunette, probably once frescoed while today it houses a small statue of the archangel, and a small circular opening.

The interior is a single room with a wooden roof and ends with a modern altar and a recent fresco.
