The baronial palace of Roccasecca dei Volsci was built in 1650 by Cardinal Carlo Camillo Massimo and is an impressive two-storey building with a turret on the roof.
When the aggressions by invaders ended, many castles and medieval fortresses were turned into noble palaces and the towns took on a less defensive appearance.
The stately floor is raised above the pedestrian level and is accessed via a ramp or a ladder.
The entrance is through an imposing door with a small balcony that decorates it at the top.
In the inner courtyard you can see the area for the horse-driven mill, the stables and the cistern for the collection of rainwater.
