The Matteotti palace takes its name from the square in Marino.
In the past it was also known as the Locanda Vecchia. For many years it was the seat of the municipality of Marino.
The palace was built in 1884 in a project by the architect Raffaele Ingami who incorporated part of the Frangipane castle with one of its towers.
The tower of the castle can still be recognized in the austere facade of the building and is the only part that preserves frescoes of a certain importance.
