Olevano Romano. Medieval tower

Olevano Romano. Medieval tower

This tower of Olevano Romano, called 'Jo Picocco', is what remains of the Colonna fortification.

It is located on a rocky outcrop in a lookout position.

From this point you can enjoy a unique panorama with a view across the Sacco Valley surrounded to the south by the Lepini Mountains, to the west by the Prenestini Mountains and to the north by the Simbruini Mountains, while to the east is the imposing Monte Scalambra.

The tower is the last fortified element of defense and was separated from the 13th century castle.

It had its own autonomy with a water supply tank.
