Zagarolo. Monumental Arch

The arch of Zagarolo was built by the Colonna to commemorate the victory of Lepanto in 1571.

It is a triumphal entrance arch to the area of Palazzo Rospigliosi.

it was built with material of Roman origin, coming from the excavations of San Cesareo, Gabi and Rome.

It is decorated with friezes and bas-reliefs that tell the story of victorious parades, marble busts, items in tufa and a tombstone from the Rospigliosi period.
