Stimigliano. Orsini Palace

Orsini palace in Stimigliano was built in the fourteenth century by the sons of the warlord Giordano Orsini, who was entrusted in 1368 with the fiefdom of Stimigliano.

The commander had been captain of the church army in the service of Cardinal Albornoz, who had re-established papal authority in Sabina.

The palace consists of three main buildings arranged around a courtyard.

You enter the building through an ancient ashlar portal near an imposing tower.

The noble apartments are decorated with XVI century frescoes of Taddeo Zuccari school.

The courtyard leads to the chapel consecrated in 1595.
