The historic Corsini palace of Albano Laziale was built around the eighteenth century along the Via Appia Nuova in Albano.
It takes its name from the Corsini family who built it in a style very similar to that of their residence in Rome. The sumptuous palace has three floors and a large Italian garden, on several levels, decorated with a splendid fountain with marble lions from the Canova school.
In 1817 it was bought by Charles IV Bourbon of Spain who restored it and it became the residence of the Queen of Etruria (Maria Luisa di Borbone).
Then in 1834 it was transformed into an inn known as 'Locanda Reale' for the many famous people it hosted such as Carlo Emanuele IV of Savoy and Giuseppe Garibaldi.
