Proceno. Porta Fiorentina (Florentine Gate) or Porta della Ripa

This is the door that is located along the north side of the town of Proceno and for this it is called Porta Fiorentina.

Originally the village had three doors, just as the Etruscan king Porsenna had promised the goddess Uri who had saved him from the wild boar.

The fortification dates back to the ninth century and in the Statutes of 1734, you can read the times of closing and opening the gate: from dawn to dusk.

Excluding the grain harvesting periods and grape harvesting in which other times were allowed.
