Rocca Canterano. Rocca di Mezzo

The fortification system of the Monti Ruffi included 3 fortresses: Rocca Canterano, Rocca di Mezzo and Rocca Martino, which was later destroyed.

Rocca di Mezzo is still alive today with its small inhabited village and the churches of Santa Maria Assunta, which has the same name as the main church of Rocca Canterano, and Saint Roch.

The village today is the main crossing point for those who want to go climbing on the equipped walls of the Costasole and from its belvedere you can enjoy an incredible panorama over the whole Aniene Valley.
