Cellere. Farnese Fortress

The Farnese fortress or Rocca Farnese overlooking the village of Cellere and was built in the Middle Ages on the ruins of a prehistoric settlement.

It was then restored by the Farnese family, with whom Cellere experienced a period of splendour, who transformed it into a residential palace.

Looking at the fortress you can recognize the different periods of renovations and the transformation from the original square structure when maybe it was a watchtower.
