San Donato Val di Comino. Arch of the Origin

San Donato Val di Comino. Arch of the Origin

‘Arco delle Origini’ Arch of Origins is one of the most picturesque alleyways of the entire old town of San Donato Val di Comino and is covered by wooden beams.

Along the walls there are the pictures dedicated to the foundation of the village.

A triptych, painted on wood by local artist Luciano Tocci, illustrates the early medieval origins: from primitive "ecclesia", the possession by the Lombard Duke of Spoleto Hildebrand, up to thirteenth century and "Castrum Sancti Donati" of the counts of Aquino.
