San Donato Val di Comino. Medieval tower

The medieval tower of San Donato Val di Comino square tower of 5.40 meters, is 12 meters high and

It is located at the highest point of the village on a rocky outcrop.

From its summit, you can enjoy a view of much of the Comino Valley and the surrounding territory.

There is no access to the ground floor and you see only the hint of an opening at a height of about 7 meters.

The tower is built up and oriented according to the transit of the sun and indicates the four cardinal points, the direction of the Abbey of Montecassino and the day of the Solstice and Equinox.
