Formia. The Castle

The medieval Castellone of Formia has lost some of its walls during the Second World War and two original towers were damaged.

One has an octagonal shape typical of the fourteenth century with three different levels namely: Roman base, another of the Republican era and finally the tower of the Caetani.

The village was formed to counter the invasions from the sea.
