Vitorchiano. The Moai of Vitorchiano

On the Vitorchiano viewpoint there is the only Moai outside Easter Island. It was sculpted in 1990 by eleven indigenous Maori, of the Atanm family from the island of Rapa Nui (Chile), during a cultural twinning program favored by a television program.

The stone of Vitorchiano, in fact, resembles that of the Pacific island and the Maori carved it using axes and sharp stones, after performing a sacred dance around the stone.

The Moai should not be moved because the legend tells of great disasters if someone moves the sculpture.
