Trivigliano. The Caste and the Tower

The circular tower still stands in the upper part of the town of Trivigliano.

It was a sighting tower that was part of the defensive complex of the medieval hamlet.

There were two more along the perimeter of the walls.

Today there is only one annex to the complex of the so-called Trivigliano Castle, currently owned by the Petocchi family.

The name of Trivigliano most probably originates from the presence of these three sighting towers (tres vigilantes).
