Montopoli di Sabina. Ugonesca Tower

The massive Ugonesca tower was built by Ugo I the abbot of Farfa around the year 1000.

It was  is the first nucleus of the village of Montopoli di Sabina.

The tower has a square plan and is built in regular masonry without crowning battlements.

It has a half-height door and slits for archers.
