Campanari Palace

Veroli. Campanari Palace

The Campanari palace takes its name from the family, which has lived in Veroli since 1324.

In the 16th century, Campanary family started good mercantile activities and transformed the area with medieval buildings into noble palaces.

The entrance door bears a plaque with the renovation works dating back to 1612.

The palace hosted the sovereigns Francesco III, Duke of Modena and Charles III of Bourbon, king of Naples in 1744.

The king gave immunity to the palace, which is symbolically represented by the two columns with the chain at the sides of the entrance door.

At the end of the eighteenth century a new wing was built, perhaps by the Roman architect Giuseppe Subleyras who was very active in Veroli in those years.

The expansion led to the construction of a new large hall for receptions and concerts, frescoed and with a prestigious Murano glass chandelier.

Today the building is privately owned.
