Veroli. Quinones Fountain

The Quinones fountain is located just outside Porta Romana - Roman Gate in Veroli, along the San Giuseppe Promenade. It is a vessel along the protective city wall.

It was restored by Cardinal Francisco Quinones, Prefect of Veroli from 1535 to 1540, to bring public water to Veroli in 1535, recovering a small source of water.

Behind the basin, a plaque and a relief in the wall represent the cardinal's family crest and a writing that recalls the history of the fountain.
