Villa Gregoriana of Tivoli is a ‘riot’ of woods, trails, waterfalls, caves and vegetation that lies at the foot of the ancient Acropolis.
It was created by Pope Gregory XVI in 1834 and was thereafter an essential destination in the famous "Grand Tour".
It is considered a world with a unique blend of nature and archaeological beauties of the remains of the villa of Publius Manlius Vopiscus.
Villa Gregoriana is famous both for the spectacular great waterfall created by the Aniene river, and for the Neptune Caves and the Cave of the Sirens, caves eroded by the river near the Temple of Vesta.
