Prossedi. Village of Pisterzo

Prossedi. Village of Pisterzo

Pisterzo is a classic example of a medieval town, a small village in a horseshoe shape in the administrative area of Prossedi.

It has about eighty inhabitants in winter plus flocks of vacationers in summer who enjoy the cool of the valley.

The meaning of the name Pisterzo is controversial, in an ancient document it is reported as "Prius Tertium", the "First of the Three".

Perhaps the three castles founded in the Amaseno valley.
