The Zaccaleoni palace is located in the center of Priverno and was built in the seventeenth century by combining several medieval palaces of the twelfth century as were in use during this time.
The main facade and all the windows are decorated with high-relief stucco while the eighteenth-century courtyard maintains its typically medieval appearance.
The palace takes its name from a noble family of Priverno arrived in 1451 from Spigno Monferrato in Piedmont.
Among the most famous members of the family was Federico Zaccaleoni who had studied in France with Napoleon in the military college of Brienne.
Napoleon gave him the medal of the Legion of Honour and he was consul during the First Republic of Rome.
He was the one to bring the bishop's seat to Priverno.
