Roccagorga. Air Aces Museum

The Air Aces Museum in Roccagorga is curated by the retired officer Giuseppe Centra and collects a countless amount of texts, relics and photographs of the first aviators.

The most important piece is the diary of Francesco Baracca, who is considered an hero of the history of Italian aviation.

The journey begins with a permanent exhibition on General Umberto Nobile and follows with message boards the two world wars.

A section is dedicated to the photographic and documentary reconstruction of the aviation accident of 1936, when Savoia Marchetti an Air Force pilot crashed on the centre of the town of Roccagorga due to an engine failure.
