Cervara di Roma. Museum of the Mountain, transhumant and painters

The museum of the Mountain, transhumant and painters is dedicated to the dual personality of pastoral life in Cervara di Roma.

On one hand the herding of animals by men who are absent for months, on the other the lives of women with local costumes, related jewellery and the ‘ex voto’ dedicated to the sanctuary of Madonna della Portella.

The two paths of life are described: that of the shepherds who drove their flocks to the sea, and that of the painters, who came from the city to paint here.

For this, in the museum, a large space is dedicated to all the artists who for centuries have represented Cervara in their works.

The museum is located in the Collegiate.
