On the occasion of the solemn celebrations that take place in Cassino during the spring festival of Saint Benedict, the historical procession of the castles of the Land of Saint Benedict.
the procession has about 400 figures including courtiers, commoners and soldiers, renews the traditional rite of homage to the abbot of Montecassino, lord of the "Terra Sancti Benedicti", by the castles subject to the monastery with the oath of the abbey militia.
Through costumes, sets, dances and medieval settings, the procession evokes a large historical period between the thirteenth century and the end of feudalism.
The celebrations, which begin with the arrival of the Benedictine Torch, attract visitors from all over Italy to the evocative setting of the abbey and along the streets of the city.
