'Ferentino is...' is an event that presents the double view of Ferentino. On the one hand a modern city with rock music events and excellent degustations in the area.
On the other, a historical re-enactment with the competition for an ancient palio dedicated to the passage of San Pietro Celestino through Ferentino.
A prize that sees 4 districts (Gates) compete in a dexterity race on horseback. Knights must be able to pierce a ring that is smaller in size at each new attempt.
The 4 Gates that correspond to the different neighbourhoods of the city are: Porta del Borgo (or Sant'Agata), Porta Sanguinaria, Porta Montana and Porta Posterula (or San Francesco).
Originally the competition was held in May on the day of birth of San Pietro Celestino but some years ago the event was moved to September.
