The Festival delle Ciaramelle was born in 2016 to rediscover the traditional and historical tool of the ciaramella and takes place in Amatrice and in the neighboring countries as Accumoli.
A party to make these territories known for their vitality and the ability to overcome the image of the territory.
In the Alta Sabina area, which includes the Conca Amatriciana and the High Valleys of Tronto and Velino, the ciaramella is still present and alive, a unique instrument in the Italian scene that is often played in association with Italian bagpipes.
The Festival delle ciaramelle is a meeting place between young 'ciaramellari' high-sabine and young pipers from other Italian areas.

The festival hosts the Le ciaramelle d'argento award and a saltarello course. But it is also an opportunity for discussion in which the guest scholars speak of the link between the history and the present of the ciaramelle, of permanences, transformations, rediscovery of the territory and its culture. On this occasion, exhibitions, excursions and guided tours for young people and tourists are organized.
In this way we support the link between Amatrice and the culture of its territory to make it known to those who want to discover the beauties of an uncontaminated mountain landscape and the culinary excellence for which Amatrice is universally known.
