The Mandolin Festival in Arpino was born to tell the story of the Liuteria of Arpino thanks to the master Luigi Embergher.
The master violinmaker opened his shop in 1880 and thanks to his skill and then to that of his student Domenico Cerrone, Arpino has been a point of reference for musicians from all over southern Lazio.
The Museum of Liuteria is dedicated to them and it displays musical instruments but also projects of instruments. A section illustrates the preparation steps of the instruments and all the machines they used.
During the two days of the festival there will be visits to the museum, workshops and, obviously, concerts by famous musicians. The musics are those of the classical tradition and are held at Palazzo Boncompagni.
