Genazzano Infiorata (Flower carpet)

The Guinness World Record holder infiorata, this is the Infiorata of Genazzano that is held on the occasion of the Feast of the Sacred Heart and that crosses all the streets of the historic center of the village.

The floral carpet is made of 17 districts which in turn are composed of 25 groups of people.

The work begins the week before with the collection of flowers in the Prenestini Mountains, which are then placed in the dark and cool of the cellars of Genazzano.

The night before the infiorata are first delimited the spaces of each group, made on the ground drawings that were made in the previous weeks and then filled with petals.

On Sunday afternoon, the floral carpet is covered by the Procession of the Sacred Heart, a Sacred Representation with about 400 participants.

An ancient festival that brings together an entire country in an event that has also had the primacy of "the largest Infiorata in the world" made exclusively with fresh flower petals, certified by Guinness World Records in London in 2012: 1642.57 square meters seamless.

An opportunity to visit Genazzano, the village of Martino V and the Colonna castle, which today is one of the major centers of contemporary art that unites languages ​​of the past with those of today.
