These were the days when the farmers had to decide the day of the harvest and by tasting the grapes they realized how the vintage would be and how much wine they would produce. The harvest was also a social moment in which a community found itself working together in the fields and sharing bread every day.
For Muvis, the wine museum of Castiglione in Teverina, this festival is the occasion of two days of meetings, presentation of the past years vintages and of the territory shared with the sommelier and chefs who prepare samples of local products.
It is also a two-day visit to the companies that process the harvested grapes with demonstrations of ancient techniques such as the pressing by the feet. The demonstrations are accompanied by songs and traditional music.
