An equestrian show that leaves you breathless in a dream setting: this is the essence of Horses on the Lake (Cavalli sul Lago) in Marta, a village on the shores of Bolsena Lake.
It all stems from the passion of the horse of some friends that turns into an association to practice together the Maremma mountaineering and the Italian work mounts.
The group participates in some historical re-enactments that concern the Butteri and the life of these Italian Maremma breeders in this area.
Unique characters with their horses and saddles handmade, mainly in Tolfa.
Then the association decides to do something to Marta and since 2008 organizes this equestrian show in the area of the former stadium right by the lake.
Enogastronomic evenings where you can taste lake fish such as whitefish, perch or trout or the excellent Pecorino Romano DOP cheese with herbs and Tuscia oil.
Lunches are closed with the famous Vino Cannaiola, a sweet dessert wine typical of this area.
