Borgo Velino. Living Tresette

On August, in Borgo Velino there is the traditional game of Living Tressette that has been held since 1971 and is followed by spectators from all over Italy.

It is the living representation of the final hand of the tressette tournament that every year is organized for the occasion.

The 40 cards are personified by 40 boys and are accompanied by well-known flag bearers and musicians of Borgo Velino in the traditional parade.

The tradition of the game follows the story of Princess Margaret of Austria who came to the village for the signing of the Capitoli del Borghetto, and was greeted with a celebration by the people.

On this occasion the Princess learned of the game of Tressette through a living representation of the game itself.

The whole town is mobilized for the success of the event.
