Genazzano. Palio of Brancaleone

The Palio is held the last week of May in honour of Giovanni de Carlonibus, called Brancaleone.

he was a Genazzano knight who took part in the "Challenge of Barletta" of 1503 along with Ettore Fieramosca.

The palio includes festivals, parades and commemoration of the church of the Knights oath, an assault on the castle and the challenge itself.

The festival is accompanied by food and wine tastings.
