Every year in May the Pontine Orchestra Festival of Aprilia offers a weekend of music and emotions dedicated to schools and enthusiasts.
Over 800 students from the 9 music schools from all over the province take part in the Aprilia event to exchange musical experiences, to grow and challenge themselves without any competition. These are orchestral groups that musical schools put together during the three years of teaching the musical instrument. Schools are from Latina, Sabaudia, Pontinia, Cisterna, Sezze, Bassiano and, of course, Aprilia.
The event takes place at the Polo Culturaprilia and is divided into two days. It is promoted by the Matteotti Institute of Aprilia in collaboration with the Kammermusik association. The orchestras of the schools participating in the event perform in the morning in the "Matteotti" school gym.
The Orchestra Matteotti opens both days as a sign of welcome and a spirit of sharing.
The evening of the second day at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul the final concert is held dedicated to Andrea Di Gioia, to whose memory the festival is dedicated, a boy loved by all who played the flute and the piano.
It is a great event in which teachers and students enchant the audience, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Every year it is a success and the event grows.
