Subiaco Folk Festival "Popolarea" is a festival of popular music that takes place every year in the summer in Subiaco to rediscover "songs of love and work" and guide the audience on a long journey in popular music.
A music with an overwhelming rhythm that returns every year protagonist near the medieval village of Subiaco, the Ponte di Sant'Antonio and Canale Barberini, near the banks of the river Aniene where in the nearby rafting center it is possible to spend days full of fun.
The review was born in 2103 and is divided into a series of free admission concerts, proposing groups of popular music, Italian folk / rock groups and musicians who pay homage to authors of Italian and foreign folk tradition.
The days of the festival are an opportunity for gathering and entertainment for visitors who rediscover an atmosphere of flavors and scents of an ancient community in the afternoon, in a medieval village that becomes the extraordinary stage of the kermesse.
The Subiaco Folk Festival is a unique event in the area and of great artistic depth, an event very much felt and appreciated by fans of good music.
In addition to taking part in concerts, visitors can visit a photography exhibition, taste excellent craft beer from Subiaco and find typical dishes and homemade desserts in the stands and many other specialties.
From 2013 to today have performed on the stage of Popolarea of Subiaco the Bella piazza (folk group of Castel Madama), Ladri De Kaine (pizzica, taranta, ethnic), Area 765 (ex Ratti della Sabina), Shara (pizzica, taranta, ethnic) group of folk dances "Val d'Aniene", Cantarja (tribute to Fabrizio De Andrè), Giuliano Gabriele Ensemble, Duo Graal (Roman popular song), Syrah Trio, Giancane, Folkgrass, Valentina Ferraiuolo & Trillanima, the Fratelli Barnelli with a tribute to Bob Dylan, the Dinosauri (formerly Modena City Ramblers), the Cavesja, The Gang (the historic Italian band of the Severini brothers), the singer-songwriter Stefano Crialesi.
