Prossedi. Festival of Zazzicchia (sausage)

The second weekend of December in Prossedi is celebrated one of the most famous typical dishes: the 'Zazzicchia Prosseana' (sausages from Prossedi).

A festival that has become a tradition thanks to the exceptional quality of this sausage that is cooked on the grill in the courtyard of Palazzo Baronale.

Next to the sausage you can taste other traditional dishes such as bruschetta with new oil, sausage and beans, polenta with pork sauce, broccoli, fried vegetables and traditional dry desserts.

The sausages are made according to tradition and the meat is seasoned with salt, chopped orange peel, coriander seeds and chilli. The meat is left to flavor a night before being stuffed into sausages.

During the festival the streets of the village and the cellars are animated with live music and Christmas markets.
