Ceprano. Festival of Cantamesse

The 'Cantamesse' are typical local ciambelle (donuts), cakes baked with aniseed, and which are celebrated on August 15 in Ceprano.

The term "Cantamessa" comes from the fact that this ciambella was offered to San Rocco during songs (canta) in high mass (messa) and the tradition is documented as early as 1500.
